Thanks for coming back.

Perhaps I can write a few words about this blog and why I am doing it.

My name is Uri and I am the founder of Nominal Accounting software, I am not an accountant and not a bookkeeper. I am small business owner operating in Australia and over the past few years have learned quite a lot about this subject.

‚

So coming back to the question of why am I writing this blog? the answer is that I want to help other people like myself about doing their books and while doing so gain some visibility to our software offering.

You would think that such a common subject will be very easy to find information about, the reality is that it is not so common. I guess most bookkeepers and accountants wouldn¢â‚¬â„¢t have the motivation to share this kind of information and most other software companies will prefer to educate their customers in a more structured (and profitable) way.

On the subject of Nominal Accounting, although I will be mentioning it and using screenshots to explain some of the features, I will try to make this blog informative enough and generic enough be useful for businesses who use other software packages or solutions.

Today¢â‚¬â„¢s post will go against the rule I just formed and actually focus on how to install Nominal accounting, rules are created to be broken J

First thing you need to do is download the install file from the website: www.nominal.com.au/download

‚

  • Download the install file
download

‚

  • Execute the setup.exe file
runsetup
  • Click the run button, but only if you trust us enough....
run

‚

‚

  • Install the .NET 4.0 if not already installed
begininstall

‚

  • Install the software application by following the standard wizard
install_wizard

‚

  • Launch the software from the desktop

That¢â‚¬â„¢s pretty much it, a new icon will be created on your desktop and application start menu, which you can use to run the Nominal Accounting company wizard.

Although this process describes the way to install Nominal Accounting, any modern accounting software will follow similar steps.

Unless you go with an online solution which doesn¢â‚¬â„¢t involve any installation whatsoever, perhaps we would discuss the differences between desktop vs online accounting solutions in one of the following weeks.
